Become a member
Uppsala Makerspace is open to everyone — beginners and seasoned makers alike. As a member you are welcome at our open evenings; as a lab member you also get your own access to the space whenever you like, plus storage, consumables and our tool pool.
The whole sign-up — account, payment and liability undertaking — now happens in our app.

¹ Requires an active basic membership. ² Up to 5 people at the same address.
Reduced price for students, pensioners and jobseekers — tick the box at the top of the membership page in the app before you choose. Basic is then 100 kr/year and Lab 1 200 kr/year.
A yearly lab membership includes the basic membership.

Getting started in the app
Open app.uppsalamakerspace.se on your phone. The app is a web app that you install straight from the page (no App Store or Google Play needed). As soon as you are in, the app asks you to pick a membership, pay and accept the liability undertaking.

How it works
From opening the app to unlocking the door yourself:
- Create an account with your email (or continue with Google).
- Confirm your email through the link we send you.
- Tell us about yourself — your name at the least. Age, gender and RFID tag are optional but help the association.
- Pick a membership — tick family or reduced price if either applies to you.
- Pay with Swish straight in the app — on the same phone as Swish, or by QR code to another device.
- Accept the liability undertaking in the app.
- Wait for the board’s approval — we approve as quickly as we can, usually within a few days.
- Done! You can now unlock the doors with the app.
If you cannot use Swish
No Swish, or need to pay some other way? Get in touch with the board at kansliet@uppsalamakerspace.se and we will help you manually. You can also pay by bank giro 584-8056 — put your name and email in the message and we will register the membership for you.
Note that you still need to use the app even if you pay manually. That is where you accept the liability undertaking, unlock the doors and get messages from the board — the payment step is the only part we move outside the app in this case.
If you are under 18
- Under 15 you need an adult with you in the space (*).
- Under 18 you may not use rotating tools without an adult, and you cannot let in others who are not lab members themselves.
* Responsible young people from about 12 can get a lab membership after consulting a guardian, with the guardian’s signature on the liability undertaking and a special introduction with the guardian present.
